Gjirokastër features the imposing Gjirokastër Castle, the Ethnographic Museum (birthplace of Enver Hoxha), and the distinctive kullas (tower houses) that earned its UNESCO status. Both cities preserve Ottoman-era bazaars and traditional craftsmanship.
